This movie is the crown jewel for me and adore all of her movies that are available for the American viewers on Amazon.
This movie is an example of what her on stage performances were like, and for that I am truly thankful and in awe of her talent and skill at performing before a live audience.

As much as I enjoyed the new film, I wanted to see the real thing, the real Judy Garland in one of her later roles as a famous musical entertainer doing a London engagement in the 1960's. Not scripted, just good talk.
I remember years ago when this Judy Garland movie came out in the 60's how excited I was to see another Judy Garland movie after her comeback at Carnegie Hall. The lyrics to all the songs in my opinion let this film down.

A huge improvement upon the MGM DVD release. I think, judging by some of her television appearances on The Jack Paar Show and others (see YouTube), she was probably one of the funniest women on the planet!

When I saw that this movie, the final movie of her career, was available on DVD, I purchased it right away. Although critical opinion about this Judy Garland movie - made in London, and late in her career (it is in fact her last movie) - has always been divided, this is one of my favourite Garland films.
For a 40-year-old catalog title, and one not especially popular, I Could Go on Singing generated a lot of angry complaints from consumers when it was first announced that the title would be released to DVD in Panned & Scanned format only. Her voice is slightly past its peak but is nonetheless rich, vibrant, exciting, and perhaps at its most expressive: the songs styled carefully to play to her strengths. The Blu-Ray version gives you the chance to see Judy Garland in performance on the London Palladium stage as if you are there. Flawed this may be,but the acting between Bogarde and Garland works well and of course she sings her heart out.There is a problem however with the dvd as its been "adjusted" to fit tv screens so you do get some of the scenes more in close up with less of the overall picture.One scene has Garland and Bogarde in the back of a car and you only get half of each face!Plus because of this "adusting" some of the images arent quite as crystal clear and sharp as one would like (or expect nowadays). Not scripted, just good talk. Territories, Canada, and Bermuda. This tragic life end too soon but, even though her version of "A Star is Born" was her best (and by far the best of the four done). It's a delightful musical movie worth watching. I also purchased the movie soundtrack as well, by the way, and equally cherish it.
